Course delivery and assessment
This skill set equips learners with the core skills and knowledge required to conduct assessment within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. It meets the minimum educational requirements for assessors working independently, as defined under current VET legislation, frameworks, and regulatory standards.
The course is suitable for individuals seeking to perform assessor roles within Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and related training environments. The TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set supersedes the former TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, with updated units aligned to current regulatory and industry requirements.
You can choose to complete this course online or face-to-face at one of our training facilities.

The Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00019) is designed for individuals who assess competency but do not deliver training, or who want to specialise purely in assessment within the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you don’t have one, you can apply at usi.gov.au or we can assist.
Licencing/Regulatory Information
At the time of publication, there are no licensing, legislative, or certification requirements associated with this skill set. This unit has replaced the TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, reflecting current industry needs.

Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments

Your Statement of Attainment is typically issued within 3-5 business days after you successfully complete all assessments and all required enrolment, USI and payment requirements are satisfied.
