The G2 Carry Out the Risk Management Process (RIIRIS402E) face-to-face course is designed for individuals who have previously completed risk training and want to keep their skills up-to-date and maintain compliance.
You’ll learn how to:
Apply risk management processes in line with organisational procedures and legislative requirements
Facilitate effective consultation and communication with teams regarding hazards and controls
Review and evaluate existing risk management plans and site-specific procedures
Identify emerging risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for risk assessments and control measures
Course Delivery and Assessment
This course is delivered face-to-face over 1 full day.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment, building both confidence and competence while receiving direct guidance and personalised feedback from experienced trainers throughout the day.
Assessment is competency-based and ensures you can apply safe work practices with confidence. It includes:
An Interactive quiz and knowledge checks throughout the day
Scenario-based questions to demonstrate practical understanding
A final observation to confirm your competency

The following entry requirements apply to this course:
basic computer skills and access to the internet
sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.

The online course is self-paced, and you have 90 days from the date of your enrolment to complete the course.
The G2 Carry Out the Risk Management Process (RIIRIS402E) course itself does not expire, as it is a nationally recognised unit of competency. Once you successfully complete it, you are issued a Statement of Attainment, which remains valid indefinitely.
However:
Some employers or mining sites may require refresher training or re-assessment every 2-5 years to ensure your knowledge is up to date with current legislation and site procedures.
There are no formal entry requirements. However, students will need:
Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and communication)
Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you don’t have one, you can apply at usi.gov.au or we can assist.
Your Statement of Attainment is typically issued within 3-5 business days after you successfully complete all assessments and all required enrolment, USI and payment requirements are satisfied.
