There are no formal entry requirements to enrol in this course; however, students should have:
basic computer skills and access to the internet

The online course is self-paced and takes approximately 1-8 weeks (depending on your experience level and the amount of time you can allocate to your study and assessments).
The G1 - RIIRIS301E - Apply Risk Management Processes course itself does not expire, as it is a nationally recognised unit of competency. Once you successfully complete it, you are issued a Statement of Attainment, which remains valid indefinitely.
However:
Some employers or mining sites may require refresher training or re-assessment every 2-5 years to ensure your knowledge is up to date with current legislation and site procedures.
