Unattended Boiler Training (non-accredited) - Course Information
The Unattended Boiler Training course provides participants with the practical knowledge and operational awareness required to safely work with unattended boiler systems in accordance with Australian Standards and workplace safety requirements.
Through a combination of trainer-led learning and practical exercises, participants will gain an understanding of boiler operations, associated safety systems and the responsibilities involved in maintaining safe and efficient boiler performance.
You’ll learn about:
Legislative and workplace requirements relating to unattended boiler operations
Safe start-up, monitoring, shutdown and storage procedures
Boiler components, fittings and ancillary systems
Feedwater systems, water treatment and boiler maintenance principles
Heat transfer and thermodynamics in boiler operations
Hazard identification, risk controls and safe work practices
PPE requirements, fire awareness and confined space considerations
Workplace communication procedures and operational reporting
Safe and efficient operation of unattended boiler systems in industrial environments
Course Delivery and Assessment
Due to the high-risk nature of boiler operation, the Unattented Boiler Training course is delivered face-to-face. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment, building both confidence and competence while receiving direct guidance and personalised feedback from experienced trainers throughout the course.

You must satisfy each of the following criteria to enrol in this course:
Wear steel-capped or safety boots to your session and PPE.
Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and communication).
Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments.
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don’t have one, you can apply at usi.gov.au or we can assist.
