Standard 11 Refresher Course - Course Information

Course Delivery and Assessment

Through a series of online quiz questions and assessments, the Standard 11 refresher course will test your knowledge of key surface mine site safety protocols and keep you up-to-date with the latest industry standards and regulations.

The course duration has been shortened to align with your existing knowledge and skills.

You'll be assigned a dedicated trainer/assessor for support if required for the duration of your course.

Course Outcome

This course ensures you remain compliant to work on surface coal and metaliferous mine sites as mandated by the Queensland Mining Safety Inspectorate.

Upon successful completion of the Standard 11 refresher course, you will be awarded a nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment and 6 nationally accredited units of competency:

  • RIIWHS201E - Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures.

  • RIIERR205D - Apply initial response first aid.

  • RIIGOV201E - Comply with site work processes/procedures.

  • RIIRIS201E - Conduct local risk control.

  • RIICOM201E - Communicate in the workplace.

  • RIIERR302E - Respond to local emergencies and incidents.

This Statement of Attainment is valid for 5 years or as stipulated by your employer.

  • Have successfully completed all six Standard 11 units (RIIWHS201E, RIIERR205D, RIIGOV201E, RIIRIS201E, RIICOM201E and RIIERR302E), within the last 5 years.

  • Be at least 15 years of age.

  • Have basic computer skills and access to the internet.

  • Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments.
